Face fix

Face fix finds each face in the image, enlarges it, redraws it and pastes it back. Everything outside the faces stays exactly the same. It’s suited to small, under-detailed faces in full-body or group images.

Detection model

Automatic face detection needs a face detection model (face_yolov8*.pt). Put it in either:

• adetailer in CoCo’s model folder
• A folder in your main model folder categorized as “Detectors (face fix)”

Without a detection model, you can still draw boxes manually.

Basic steps

1. Choose “Face fix” as the refine mode. CoCo finds the faces and draws a box around each.
2. Click the boxes to choose which faces to fix (only checked ones are fixed).
3. Each face can have extra prompt text, for example smile for one and crying for another. Extra text is appended to the prompt above.
4. Choose the amount of change and press “Redraw”.

Level	Description
Subtle	Fixes details only; features and expression stay much the same
Moderate	Redraws the features, keeping the original angle and expression
Strong	Redraws following the prompt; the expression can change

Drawing boxes yourself

Profile views and very small faces are sometimes missed. Drag on the image to box the area yourself (marked “Manual”); remove boxes you don’t need. Manual boxes stay after “Detect again”.

If no faces are found, try another model under “Detector”.

Face fix after generating

When “Face fix” next to the Generate button is on, each image is checked for faces and fixed automatically after it’s generated; images without faces are skipped.

These settings are in ⚙ Settings → Generate → Face fix after generating:

• Keep the image before face fix: when on, the original is saved as usual and the fixed image is saved as its new version, which you can compare on the Refine page; when off, only the fixed image is saved.
• Strength: the same as Face fix in Refine; higher changes more.

Batch face fix

Select several images in the library, press “Batch refine” and choose face fix; every face in every image is fixed.
